Bill looked out the window and saw the mental facility getting smaller and smaller until it faded from sight. It was followed by a large smile. He looked over at Tom, who was trying his best to keep his eyes on the road.

"What's your name?" Bill asked curiously.

Tom was startled a little bit and the car made a slight swerve. He didn't realize he had never told the boy his name.

"Tom." he let out quietly.

"Oh, that's a nice name." Bill replied, and continued looking out the window.

As Tom was driving, he was thinking about what to do next. He had just 'stolen' Bill from an asylum. He couldn't just leave him out on his own. The only possible conclusion, was to have Bill stay with him. But how to get that by his parents? He looked back at the black haired boy in the passenger seat, looking out the window in sheer amazement.  He obviously had been in room 483 too long.

"Hey look at that...um...cow! Look at the cow!" Bill added in.

It was a mile or so before the two got to Tom's house. Tom got out of the car and headed towards the trunk to get the heavy box. When he reached it, he noticed Bill hadn't gotten out, so he went over to check. Bill was fiddling with the seat belt, trying to get out.

"Here." Tom reached over Bill's lap and clicked the red button to release it.

Bill's mouth formed a silent 'o' and he leaped out.

"Here help me with this case." Tom said walking back to the trunk.

Bill followed diligently behind and helped with the crate of ashes. They walked up to the front of the house and Tom knocked on the door with his one remaining hand.

"Be right there!" they heard from the inside.

The door unlatched and Simone looked a bit surprised to see Tom and another person at the door. She saw they were working together to carry the load and didn't say a word.

"Where should we put this?" Tom asked.

Simone snapped out of her stare at Bill and pointed to the counter. Once the case was set down, Simone asked a few questions.

"And who's this?"

Bill started to feel a little bit nervous, but Tom spoke for him.

"This is Bill. He uhm moved out of his mum's house, but he has to stay here for a little while. That okay?" Tom improvised.

Simone knew it would be rude to shove the boy out with nowhere to stay.

"Of course. Tom he'll have to stay in your room. We don't have a guest room. We turned it into your father's office."

Tom had completely forgotten about that factor. He was beginning to get a bit nervous about having a mental patient sleeping in his room, but he decided Bill seemed harmless and shook it off.

"Okay."

"I think there's an extra mattress in the garage. I'll get it. You two can go upstairs and wait for dinner."

Bill's face dropped when he heard dinner. At the hospital, dinner was when the nurse came in and gave you pills and really disgusting cafeteria food. He wasn't very excited. Tom noticed the look on his face.

"Don't worry. She doesn't cook that bad. Come on." Tom said as he headed up the flight of stairs.

When Bill entered Tom's room, he was in total awe.

"This is your room?!" he questioned excitedly.

"Uhm. Yeah."

"It's so big and colourful and good. So much better than my old room."

Tom had to admit he felt bad that his own crappy room was so much better to Bill than his room and the asylum. Bill looked around at a few of the posters scattered on Tom's walls.

"Who are they?"

"Samy Deluxe, Bushido..." Tom replied.

"What do they do?"

"Rap."

Bill looked a bit confused at the word rap. Trying to remember what it meant. Tom filled him in.

"It's like singing and talking combined, it's pretty fast though."

"Oh yeah!" Bill instantly started to remember. He also remember that his own mum wasn't a big fan of rap.

A voice pierced the silence.

"I found a mattress. It's not very big. But I figure it'll work." Simone said, carrying a mattress a bit smaller than Twin.

She then realized that Bill was taller closer up.

"Honey, do you mind laying down on this to see if it works?"

"Uhm. Okay."

She sprawled the mattress on the ground and let Bill lay down. He fit, but barely. There was only about 4 inches from the end of the bed to Bill's worn out shoes.

"Well, you fit. I hope it's good enough though." Simone added.

"No no it's fine. Thankyou!" Bill smiled.

Simone saw his politeness and wished Tom was more like him. She left the room to fix dinner.

"Your mum is very nice. Why didn't she think this bed would be good? It's pretty big."

Tom remembered how small Bill's old bed was. He's never had such a grateful person in his house.

"And also Tom,"

"What?"

"Thankyou. For helping me."

Tom started to feel overwhelmed with feeling like he'd done a really good deed.

"You're welcome."

Bill smiled, and Tom returned it.

"Boys! Dinner!" Simone yelled.

The two walked down the stairs, immediately catching scent of fresh pasta. Bill's face lit up, he couldn't remember the last time he smelled something so good. They walked into the kitchen, and Tom took a seat in his usual spot. Bill stood there wondering where he was supposed to sit.

"Oh dear take Gordon's seat, right next to Tom there."

Bill walked over and sat down and looked at his plate full of food. And not one single pill. He started eating it, about 3 times faster than Tom. Before Tom had even finished half, Bill was done.

"Wow. You look like you haven't eaten a decent meal in ages!" Simone said, amazed to see someone down her food so fast.

Bill thought of a fast reply, "My mother isn't a very good cook." he saw Tom let out a sigh of relief.

"You can have more if you'd like, it's right behind you in that pot."

Bill immediately got up and plopped another spoonful on his plate. Simone studied Bill over, he was skinny as a rail, but he seemed to eat a lot. Also, he was beautiful for a boy. Much prettier than even Tom's girlfriends. Bill ate the next helping a bit slower, now that he knew he wasn't being rushed.
---

The night came, and Bill and Tom were getting ready to go to bed. They'd both had a rather full day.

"Here's a blanket." Tom tossed one of his down to Bill, who was on the floor beside him.

"Thanks." Bill mentioned.

Bill fell asleep almost instantly, then a while after, Tom.
While I should be doing homework.
